Donald T. Denne, Sr., 65, of Sutersville, died Friday, July 11, 2014. He was born Sept. 27, 1948, in West Mifflin, a son of the late Joseph William and Hilda (Thomas) Denne.

Donald was the owner and operator of Don Denne's Cabinet Shop Custom Work and was a member of The Church in Sutersville.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Shirley A. (Kociban) Denne; three sons, Donald T. Denne Jr. and wife, Christie, Charles Denne and wife, Shelly, and Joseph Denne and wife, Danielle; eight grandchildren, Tommy, Chay, Colby and Olivia Denne, Mason Tanner and wife, Heather and Julia, Joey and Kelsie Denne; brothers, Rich Denne and wife, Jayne, and Carl Denne; a sister, Kathy Vay and husband, Keith; and sisters-in-law, Cookie Denne and Joanne Denne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Ken and Jim Denne.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at The Church, 1683 Mars Hill Road, Sutersville, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday. Interment will follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon. Arrangements entrusted to J. WILLIAM McCAULEY JR. FUNERAL HOME INC., West Newton. Betty Jane Bailey Dyson

Betty Jane Bailey Dyson, 76, of Sewickley Township, went to be with her Lord Saturday night, March 8, 2014. She was born May 15, 1937, in Campbellsville, Ky., the daughter of the late Herman Eugene Bailey and Ruth Gertrude Davis. When Betty was able she attended The Church in Sutersville.

Betty is survived by her husband of 56 years, Donald Dyson, who faithfully and lovingly cared for his wife during her long illness. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, David Allen Dyson and his wife, Tammi, of Sewickley Township, and her daughter, Deborah Sue Sabara and her husband, Joseph, of Inter Laken, N.Y.; a sister, Mardelle Yoder, of Bradentown, Fla.; and a brother, Herman Bailey, of Indian Rocks Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening, March 13, at The Church, 1683 Mars Hill Road, Sutersville, and until the time of the service, which will be at 11 a.m. at The Church with Pastor Frank A. Rocco presiding. Interment will follow in the Mars Hill Cemetery. RICHARD F. DODSON MEMORIAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.

George "Ed" Ammerman

George "Ed" Ammerman, 84, of Williamsport went to be with the Lord Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014 at his home. Born April 20, 1929 in Fallentimber, he was a son of George R. and Vera (Rice) Ammerman. He married his beloved wife of 59 years, Alice, on Nov. 12, 1954.

George was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was in the Korean War, a part of the 25th Infantry Division, where his honors included two purple hearts and two bronze stars. He retired from Stroehmann Bakery in 1975 after many years of service. George attended Community Baptist Church; and The Church of Sutersville, when he was in town. He was a life member of the DAV and VFW, Duboistown and was a past Commander of the DAV. He enjoyed fishing, swimming, riding horses, reading, cowboy movies, Bible word searches, music, singing, traveling and Snoopy. He loved children and would spend time passing out teddy bears to kids he would meet. George loved God and family. Heaven has reclaimed an angel, one of the kindest gentlemen that blessed not only his family's lives, but made an impression on everyone who knew him.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Karen (Gary) Mitcheltree of Morris, Linda (Richard) Benjamin of Middletown, Edward (Susan) Ammerman of Montoursville and Brian (Christina) Ammerman of Haymarket, Va.; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Anna Marie; four brothers; and one sister.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Community Baptist Church, 1853 State Route 87, Montoursville. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Woolrich. A viewing will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport and 10-11 a.m. Thursday at church.
