Barbara B. Brady, 80, of Sewickley Township, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021. She was born December 9, 1940 in Braddock and grew up in East McKeesport. She was the daughter of the late William Beck and Ruth (Eckenrode) Beck Aiton.

Barbara worked at the University of Pittsburgh before raising her family, later returning to work at the former Daily News in McKeesport and the former Baldock nursing home in North Huntingdon where she enjoyed playing the piano for the residents. She was a member of The Church in Sutersville and the former Sutersville Presbyterian Church. Barbara loved going to the ocean throughout her entire life and was able to see, and touch, the ocean for the last time in December. Barbara, most of all, loved spending time with her family and was very proud of her grandchildren, often traveling to celebrate birthdays, attend soccer matches, band and orchestra concerts, dance recitals, and high school and college graduations. She was looking forward to the birth of her first great-grandchild later this year.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Bruce (Camille Beliveau) Brady of Chesapeake, VA, daughter, Beth (Carl) Anderson of Tucson, AZ, and grandchildren, Michael (Kaylin) Brady, Corrie Brady, Ian (Briana) Anderson, and Carly (Fiancé Dexter Poland) Anderson. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Robert Brady Jr., who passed away in October 2020 and her sister, Carol Immel.

There is no visitation. Memorial service will be held Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park, Inc. North Huntingdon when she will be reunited with her husband on their 62nd wedding anniversary. Robert Sevich, 93 of Monongahela, (Victory Hill) died Tuesday, March 9, 2021. Born August 22, 1927 in Duquesne, he was the son of Vid and Mary (Vekich) Sevich.

After serving in the U.S. Army during WWII Mr. Sevich began working at the former Carnegie Steel Mill in Duquesne and then American Steel & Wire in Donora. He was always proud to have been named the first police chief of Carroll Twp. and eventually retired as a supervisor for Fox Grocery in Belle Vernon. He was a member of "The Church" in Sutersville.

Surviving are his wife of 70 years Marion Jean (Havrilesko) Sevich ; two sons Dale R. Sevich of Monongahela, and Larry M. (Lorraine) Sevich of Ohio; two granddaughters Victoria and Anna Sevich and a niece Linda Sevich.

Preceding him in death was an infant son John J. Sevich, a brother Michael Sevich and two sisters Julie Graovak and Dorothy Sevich.

Arlene M. (Bertie) Perhach Slate, age 84, of Forward Twp., passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at home.

She retired as a driver for the National Steelworkers Oldtimers Foundation in McKeesport. She was a member of The Church in Sutersville and was a former clerk at Thompson's Convenience Store.

Born December 20, 1936 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Rose (Plaster) Bertie.

She is survived by sons, Steve (Edna) Perhach of Elizabeth, Ron (Tammy) Perhach of Forward Twp., Mike Slate of Forward Twp. and Edward (Glori) Slate of Monroeville; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; also, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons, David Perhach, Charles Slate Jr. and Duane Perhach.

Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Cheyenne N. Kassler, 30, of Sutersville, passed away Friday, April 2, 2021, in Excel Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.

She was born Sept. 19, 1990, in Greensburg, beloved daughter of Bernie (Jamie) Kassler, of Lehighton, and Lisa R. (Farkas) Kassler, of Rillton, with whom she resided and her mother's friend, Ronald Raymond, of Belle Vernon.

Cheyenne was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Jane Ilene Kassler, and uncle, Larry Kassler.

She was a member of The Church, located in Sutersville, where she enjoyed volunteering. She loved to sing, talk on the phone with her friends, vacationing with her family and babysitting. She was a 2009 Yough Senior High School graduate.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother, Dakota Kassler, of Sutersville; maternal grandparents, Robert and Donna Farkas, of Sutersville; two uncles, Dane (Leesa) Kassler, of Elizabeth Township and Randy (Diane) Farkas, of Sutersville; several cousins and many friends who loved her dearly.

Cheyenne will forever be remembered for her smile and kindness to everyone she met. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends near and far.

Napoleon “Pole” Madison Jr., 68, of Monessen, passed away on April 8, after a lengthy illness.

Born on Aug. 5, 1952, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Napoleon Madison Sr. and Katherine Davis Madison Mason. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Lorraine Madison and Patty Crosby; and stepfather, Sam Mason.

Pole was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a 1970 graduate of Monessen High School. He was employed at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel’s Allenport plant and Columbia Gas. Pole was a member of The Church in Sutersville. Best known as “Coach Pole,” he devoted much of his life to coaching youth sports, especially the Monessen Termite football team. He was vice president of the Mon Valley Midget Football League and held various roles in Monessen youth sports organizations.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Robin; sons, Cameron (Bobbi Jo), Jarrod (Kaley), Blair and Morgan; and a daughter, Alyssa; 12 grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; a brother Greg (Carla) Davis; brothers-in-law, Otis Crosby and Chris Bantlis; auntie-in-law, Bobbi Jo Huebner; his favorite uncle, Norman Madison; along with nieces and nephews; dear friends, Jack Howell, Tim Livingstone, Jimmy Sepesky and Mario Colombo, who made the time to visit him; and devoted friend Woody Main, who spent significant time with him when he needed it the most; as well as his best friend and most loyal companion, Beanie, who stayed by his side always.

Pole participated in the University of Pittsburgh Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ARDC) and donated his brain for research, hoping to help others who may suffer from Lewy body dementia.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life at RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., in Monessen for visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 11. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel immediately after, with Pastor Jack Howell officiating. Genevieve "Genny" E. Hoover, age 91, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Jefferson Hospital.

She was a member of The Church in Sutersville. Born October 25, 1929 in Dysart, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Adeline (Lee) Ammerman and wife of the Donald D. Hoover.

She is survived by daughter, Lois (Ralph) Brown of White Oak; sons, Donald M. (Madalen) Hoover of Pittsburgh and Charles Hoover of Bon Aqua, TN; grandchildren, Katie (Paul) Diamant, Abby Hoover, Donny (Peggy Sue) Hoover, Joshua (Jessika) Brown, Jeff (Alex) Hoover and Jesse Hoover; great-grandchildren, Brenden, JJ. Nathan, Hudson, Veva, Hunter, Bryce and Lochlan; sister, Marian LeGrande of Cresson; beloved dog, Mickey; also, nieces and nephews.

William C. Whitehead, age 92, of North Huntingdon, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 8, 2021.

He was born May 28, 1928 in Irwin, a son of the late Clarence R. and Sara E. (Daily) Whitehead.

Prior to his retirement, Bill was a master tool and die maker for GM and attended The First Presbyterian Church in Irwin. He was a graduate of Norwin High School Class of 1947. He was involved in many activities such as Rough Riders Assoc., Swinging Squares of Irwin and Herold Grange Square Dancers, White Oak Gun Club, Laurel Highlands Coachman, the Winnebago Club, and the Odd Fellows. Bill was a board member of the Auto Workers Federal Credit Union. He was involved in may more activities, but his true love was his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth J. Romig Whitehead; sons, William C. Jr., Larry and Gary; and daughter-in-law, Marilyn Whitehead.

He is survived by his sons, Bruce, Mark (Suzie), and Rick; daughters, Linda Somerville and her husband, Joseph, and Janet Gilbert and her husband, Jim; grandchildren, Douglas (Vicky) Whitehead, Melanie (Richard) Freese, Adam Whitehead, Michael Whitehead, Samantha (Bill) Kane, Ashton (Michael) Wertz, Linnea (Drew) Wortmann, Courtney Whitehead; great-grandchildren, Dante, Kylie, Abby, Bryce, Maddox, Riley, Eden, Bryer, Wren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his little dog Toby.

Jacqueline “Jacki” Connolly (née Kersul, formerly Howley), 77, of Munhall, PA, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Connolly. She was the daughter of the late Irene (née Dudas) and Frederick Vaslowski, and Emil Kersul.

She was the sister of Theodore Vaslowski, Valerie Yednak and the late Frederick Vaslowski. She was the sister-in-law of Gary (Lorraine) Connolly, Lisa (Douglas) Long, and Jill (Conrad) Galvan. She was the beloved mother to William (Laura) Howley IV; grandmother to Brianna (Joseph) Stanick, Marisa (Matthew) Ross and William (Alyssa) Howley V; great-grandmother to Joey, Haylie, Kaylin, Mia, Maura and Clare Jacqueline; and special mother-figure to Jamie Schubert-Reitz. She is survived by many close aunts, cousins and lifelong friends.

Her son, grandchildren, and beloved dog, Charlie, were her whole world. Jacki retired from her career at the Community College of Allegheny County where she worked for over 40 years. She adored spending time with her “immediate family” and was integral in all their endeavors. She loved watching Netflix with a glass of wine, going shopping with her great-grandchildren, and going on movie and lunch dates with her childhood friends. Jacki was special to everyone who knew her. She was a devoted Christian, who radiated warmth and kindness. She is deeply missed.

Marion E. Coffer, 77, of Lowber, died Tuesday, June 8, 2021.  She was born June 20, 1943 in Lowber, a daughter of the late John and Katie (Klus) Byzon.  Prior to retirement she was employed by Westmoreland Manor and previously worked as an airline stewardess.  An avid Bingo player, she regularly attended Turkeytown Bingo.  Marion loved gardening and the outdoors.  Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Robert Coffer; a son, Jeffrey Coffer and wife Mary; grandchildren, Jason Conrad, and Aaron and Emily Coffer; and a sister, Patsy Springer.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara.

Alice N. Racey, 76, of North Huntingdon, died Sunday September 5, 2021.

She was born July 13, 1945 in Irwin, a daughter of the late Ernest W. Racey and Ruth A. Hamm.

Alice formerly owned and operated Racey’s Auction Sales and was a former home health care aide. She was a member of The Church, Suttersville.

She is survived by her children Michele (Jim) Green of Irwin and Brian L. Miller of Latrobe; her granddaughter Courteney Miller; a sister Carol L. (Bob) Sosinski; and her beloved dog Lucy.

On Tuesday, November 9, 2021 Bonnie June (Kearns) Lynn went home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn David Lynn, her grandson Joshua David Kmetz, her father Alvin “Tex” Kearns,  and her mother June (Deutsch) Kearns, brother Alvin (wife Ruthann), sister Judy (Kearns) McDowell. 

She is survived by her daughter Sandi Lynn; daughter Lauri Lynn Kmetz (husband Thomas); grandson Matthew Ritchie (wife Dakoda); sister Janet Wood; niece Chris; nephew Matt (wife Jillian) Wood; brother in law Dick McDowell; nephew Jeff Huhn (Amy) and his children Chris, Nick and Haley; brother in law Kenneth McManus (wife Cindy); niece Christy McManus Woodson and daughters; nephew Kenneth (KJ) McManus; nephew William "Bill" and wife Ellen, and their 2 daughters Rebecca (husband Chris) Hasbrouck and their son and daughter, and Amy (husband Adam) Slafka and their 2 daughters.

Although she will be missed by her family and friends, we are comforted knowing that she is with her Lord and Savior, her beloved husband and beloved grandson.

In honoring Bonnie’s request there will be no public visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service was held at Mars Hill Cemetery.

Kenneth L. Minkus, 87, of Sutersville, died Monday, November 1, 2021.  He was born July 31, 1934 in West Newton, son of the late Leo and Frances (Drost) Minkus.  Ken was a long standing member of the Church of Sutersville and was a member of Penn Rod and Gun Club, American Legion, and Teamsters Local 30.  Prior to retirement he was employed by UPS and had been a business manager for Teamsters Local 30.  He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army.  Surviving are his daughter, Kenna Abramski and husband, Charles; granddaughter, Kaia Abramski; sister-in-law, Arlene Lash and husband, Terry; and Arlene’s daughter, Toni Novak, and her children, Amanda McDonald, Stephanie Novak and Frankie Novak; and other nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene (Drager) Minkus; daughter, Laurie Minkus; and sister, Lorraine (Albert) Caldwell.
