Logan Noah Dyson, 18, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, in a tragic automobile accident. Logan was born Jan. 23, 1999, in Jeannette, the son of David Dyson and Tammi Park (Dyson). Logan was a senior at Norwin High School and worked at the Wooden Nickel Restaurant. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Dane Dyson, of North Huntingdon; his paternal grandfather, Donald Dyson, of Irwin; his maternal grandmother, Audrey Park, in Vermont, and his aunt Leora Legrand, of Vermont; and several aunts and uncles.


The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, the time of the service, with the Rev. Frank Rocco presiding at The Church, 1683 Mars Hill Road, Sutersville, PA 15083. RICHARD F. DODSON MEMORIAL HOME is entrusted with arrangements.

George William "Bill" Fasekas


Born March 19, 1929  •  Went to be with our Lord on Monday, November 27, 2017

George William Fasekas, 88, of Clendenin went home to be with the Lord Monday November 27, 2017 at Hubbard Hospice House after a long illness.


He was the son of the late George and Mary Dzobak Fasekas. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ball Fasekas; son, Dale Fasekas; daughter, Beverly Larner; sisters, Dorothy Fasekas and Martha Laine; brothers, Paul and James Fasekas; and grandson, Todd Larner.


Bill was a Korean War Veteran. He lived most of his life in West Newton, PA. He was a member of The Church in Sutersville, PA; he also attended Falling Rock Gospel Tabernacle and Reamer Gospel Tabernacle while living in WV, and most of all he was a devout Christian.


Bill was a loving Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.


He is survived by: son, Shawn Fasekas; daughters, Charlotte August and Joni Ames; sisters, Ethel Gutzmer, Lillian Kusmierek and Virginia Coffer; grandchildren, Jennifer Tanner, C. J. Ames and Heather Meyers, Brian and Eric Larner, Amanda, Matthew and Andrew Fasekas; great grandchildren, Zac, Megan, Brooke Tanner and Christopher and Justin Meyers and Several others.


Funeral service will be 12:00 PM Wednesday November 29, 2017 at Matics Funeral Home Clendenin with Pastor Tim Harper officiating. Burial will be in the Donel C. RYAN SCOTT EVANS, 27, of Elizabeth died Aug. 7, 2017. He is the beloved son of Larry "Butch" (Debbie) Evans, Jr. and Donnetta "Netta" (Speedy) Goodrich. In addition to his parents he is survived by brothers Don Williams, Larry Evans, III, Travis Evans, Justin Evans and Andy Goodrich and sister Courtney Niedzwiecki; grandmother Frances Jones and grandparents Elizabeth and Larry Evans, Sr.; also aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.


Ryan attended Elizabeth Forward High School where he was extremely active in many sports.


Friends received at The Church, 1683 Mars Hill Rd., Sutersville, Pa 15083 on Thurs. from 3 to 6, at which time a funeral service will be held. Funeral arrangements by Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport.

Lorraine Standard


Born April 1, 1932  •  Went to be with our Lord on Thursday, July 20, 2017

Lorraine Waller Standard, 85, of Elizabeth Township, departed this life Thursday, July 20, 2017, peacefully at the home of her daughter and granddaughter. Lorraine was born April 1, 1932, in Gratztown to the late Samuel Waller Sr. and Ruby Waller Shelly. She was married to the late Charles E. Standard, and from this union, one daughter was born, Barbara E. Drake.


Affectionately called Aunt Lorraine, she accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was a very active member with more than 40 years of dedicated service at The Church, Suterville. She served diligently with the Hospitality Committee and enjoyed working in any capacity at the church where she was needed. She was employed as a housekeeper for the Frankie and Pasula families for more than 50 years. She also found time to serve as a nanny to many children, who loved her dearly.


She will lovingly be remembered by her daughter, Barbara E. Drake, of Pittsburgh; two caring grandchildren, Wendy R. Drake and John Scot Drake, both of Pittsburgh; two great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and many friends, extended family and her beloved Church of Suterville family.


The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2017, at ROBERT A. WATERS FUNERAL HOME INC., 2326 Jenny Lind St., McKeesport. Additional visitation will be held beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at The Church of Suterville, 1683 Mars Hill Road, Suterville, PA, followed by the service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Frank Rocco officiating. Deborah Anne Ravenell Copeland, 67, died peacefully Saturday, July 15, 2017, in her home in West Newton, Pa., after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born May 27, 1950, in Mt. Pleasant, Pa., the daughter of the late Charles Ricks, Gladys Isbell and the late David and Edith Ravenell. Deborah is survived by her husband of 48 years, Maurice Copeland; daughters, Marion Copeland, of Madison, Wis., Maurelle Copeland, of Tampa, Fla., and Meredith Copeland of Greensburg, Pa.; four grandchildren, Lydia Copeland, Kieran Copeland, Jalen Harvey and Caprice Copeland; and three sisters, Constance Isbell, Patricia Holmes and Mamie Smith. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.


The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at The Church in Sutersville, Pa. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017 also at The Church.

Joan A. Bierbower

Joan A. (Koter) Bierbower, 80, of Lowber, formerly of North Huntingdon, has gone home to meet her Lord and to be reunited with the love of her life her late husband, William E. Bierbower, Saturday April 22, 2017 at her home. She was born July 25, 1936, in McCullough a daughter of the late August and Mary (Kladnick) Koter. She was a member of The Church, in Sutersville.


In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by a son William Bierbower and sisters and brothers-in-law Ruth (Robert) Elder, Dorothy (William) McChesney and Catherine Baloh. Surviving are five children, Debra Devey and her fiancée Tom Mueseler, of West Virginia, Dennis Bierbower and his wife, Kathy, of North Huntingdon, Korin Paul and her husband, Rick, of Lowber, Karen Booley and her husband, Pat, of Norvelt, Rebecca Stouffer and her husband, Jim, of Norvelt, daughter-in-law Chris Bierbower, of Rector; brother-in-law Charles Baloh; 21 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren some who called her G.G. and some called her Granny; last but not least Joan had a very dear companion Zack, her Chihuahua of 10 years and several nieces and nephews.


Friends will be received Tuesday 2 to 8 p.m. at The Church 1683 Mars Hill Road Sutersville, PA 15083. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at The Church, Sutersville. Carol L. Burton, 72, of Sutersville, died Tuesday, April 4, 2017.

She was born Jan. 8, 1945, in Sutersville, a daughter of the late Edward and Hazel (McMillen) Boes.

Prior to retirement, she was employed at Yough School District in the cafeteria. Carol was a member of The Church of Sutersville. Surviving is her husband of 54 years, Houston Burton; a son, Greg Burton; a sister, Pamela Campbell and husband, Gary, of South Carolina; a brother, Thomas Boes and wife, Rose, of Glassport; and nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at The Church, 1683 Mars Hill Road, Sutersville, PA 15083, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. Interment will follow in Mars Hill Cemetery, Sewickley Township.

Ann K. Keller, 82, of North Huntingdon, died Sunday, March 19, 2017.

She was born June 10, 1934, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Edward R. and Vera (Samuel) Kregar, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Keller, and a brother, Samuel Kregar. 

Ann was a member of The Church, Sutersville, where she volunteered at the school and also was a hospice volunteer. She enjoyed drawing and ceramics. 

She is survived by her children, James E. Fresch, of Baltimore, Md., Martha S. (James) Dill, of Foresthill, Calif., Donald R. Keller, of Penn, and William A. (Rochelle) Keller, of Naples, Fla.; a sister, Janice Lavine, of Pittsburgh; and a sister-in-law, Rhoda Kregar, of Butler. 

At Ann's request, there will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017, in The Church, 1683 Mars Hill Road, Sutersville, PA 15083, with Pastor Frank Rocco, officiating.

Donald R. Robinson, Jr.


Born February 17, 1943  •  Went to be with our Lord on Saturday, March 4, 2017

Donald R. Robinson, Jr., age 74 of Clairton, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017 in Southwestern Nursing Center.  

Born February 17, 1943 in Battle Creek, MI, he was a son of the late Donald R. Robinson, Sr. and Anna (Watts) Robinson.  

A retired boilermaker for US Steel National Tube in  McKeesport, Donald was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of The Church in Sutersville. He was also an avid outdoorsman and member of the Clairton Anglers' Club who loved to hunt and fish. Donald will be remembered by his family as simply a good father, grandfather, great-grandfather and man.  

He is survived by his wife Margaret (Ellis) Robinson; his son David (Crystal) Robinson of Halethorpe, MD; his daughters Jennifer Robinson of Kentucky and Theresa Robinson of Clairton; his grandchildren Aubrey and Sean Robinson and K.C. Liam; and his great-grandson Oliver Kronheim.

A Memorial Service for Donald will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at The Church, 1683 Mars Hill Rd., Sewickley Twp., Sutersville, PA 15083.  Arrangements by the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton.

Alice Elizabeth Ammerman


Born Octover 4, 1931  •  Went to be with our Lord on Saturday, February 25, 2017

Alice Elizabeth Ammerman, 85, of Williamsport, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years George “Ed” Ammerman, on Feb. 16, 2014, and their daughter Anna Marie Ammerman in 1960.

Born Oct. 4, 1931, in Dysart, and was a 1950 graduate of Cresson High School.

Alice was devoted to God, family and friends. She attended Community Baptist Church and was a member of their Young at Hearts Bible study. Whenever she was in to visit her sister, she attended The Church in Sutersville. She enjoyed her home, watching Pirates baseball, and the Little League World Series. Mostly, she enjoyed being with and supporting her family.

Surviving are four children, Karen (Gary) Mitcheltree, of Morris, Linda (Richard) Benjamin, of Middletown, Edward (Susan) Ammerman, of Montoursville, and Brian (Christina) Ammerman, of Haymarket, Va.; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and two sisters, Genevieve Hoover, of Elizabeth and Marian LeGrand, of Cresson.

A celebration honoring Alice’s life will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 1 at Community Baptist Church, 1853 State Route 87, Montoursville. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Woolrich. A viewing will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport and from 12:30-1 p.m. Tuesday at Community Baptist Church.

Schmiedel Delores M. (Olson) "Lori" age 84 of Monroeville, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017.

Beloved wife of the late Duane R. Schmiedel; loving mother of Mark (Regina) Schmiedel and Terri (David) Coulter; grandmother of Jennifer (A.J.) Harkins, Jason (Casey) Schmiedel, Tim (Nicole) Coulter, and Tricia (fiance, Chad McCune) Coulter; great grandmother of Ella and Gavin; sister of Larry (Cathy) Olson and the late Shirley (surviving spouse, Dick) Carlson; also several nieces & nephews.

Lori was an avid bowler at Miracle Lanes and enjoyed gardening around the house.
