Vivian J. Leyh Spiker, 78, of North Huntingdon, passed away, Thursday, December 20, 2018. She was born August 20, 1940, a daughter of the late James and Amelia (Gulla) Henderson. Prior to her retirement, Vivian was a caregiver and a member of The Church in Sutersville. She enjoyed crocheting, baking and cooking.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Leyh, and second husband, Thomas Spiker; and sister, Barbara.


She is survived by her daughters, Julie Burk and her husband, Joseph, Melissa Crousey and her husband, Caleb, Emily Perz and her husband, Ryan; brothers, James (Diane) Henderson, David (Linda) Henderson; sister, Nora Henderson; and grandchildren, Joseph, Annalise, Kaden, Preston, Elijah, Leah, Abigail and Karis.

The Lord calls each of us by name. On December 9, 2018 Charles “Chick” Honick of Elizabeth passed peacefully to join Jesus. He was born September 13, 1936 in McKeesport, the son of the late Joseph and Florence Randolph Honick. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Patricia Honick and his children Cheryl (Michael) Fullerton, Denise (Raymond) Schultz, Deborah Micallef, Edward (Cindy) Honick and Justin Honick.


He was preceded in death by sons, William and Charles Honick. “Chick” was one of 13 children. He left behind 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was a devoted Christian and a member of “The Church” of Sutersville, PA. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired police officer. “Except a man be born again he cannot see the Kingdom of Heaven” John 3:3.


Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 7:00 pm at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, Supervisor 412-678-6177). Pastor Frank Rocco officiating.

William F. “Speedy” Goodrich, 63 of Elizabeth, died Aug. 9, 2018.  He is the son of the late William and Margaret (Colson) Goodrich.  He is survived by his beloved wife Donnetta “Netta” (Williams) Goodrich; children William Cabe (Annette) Goodrich, Somer (Derek) Goodrich, Don Williams, Andy (Ralei) Goodrich and Larry Evans; grandchildren Tanner, Hudson, and Carter Goodrich; sisters Barbara (the late John) Relja, Linda Kavka, Joan (Bruce) Jordon and Sherri (Bill) Jenkins; also nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by son Ryan Evans.

Marie J. Lawrenzi, 85, of Sutersville, died Monday, July 2, 2018.  She was born August 23, 1932 in Elizabeth Township, a daughter of the late Henry and Mary (DeSanta) Codeluppi.  Marie was a member of The Church of Sutersville. 


Surviving are her husband of 54 years, John “Legs” Lawrenzi; two sons, Jon Lawrenzi and wife, Coleen, and Jeff Lawrenzi and wife, Gwen; four grandchildren, Gianna Pirillo and husband, Justin, Amara Lena Lawrenzi, Jon Gino Lawrenzi, and Shelby Lawrenzi. 


In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Adolph and Robert Codeluppi, and sister, Lena Stanich. 


Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 pm Thursday at the J. William McCauley, Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine St. West Newton, where services will be held at 10 am Friday.  Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.  Condolences may be left at: http://www.mccauleyfuneralhomes.com.

Marie J. (Codeluppi) Lawrenzi

Born August 23, 1932

Went to be with our Lord on Monday, July 2, 2018

Donald L. Wentroble, 64, of Sutersville, died unexpectedly Wednesday, June 6, 2018, in Shore Memorial Hospital, N.J.

He was born Aug. 30, 1953, in Greensburg, a son of the late David J. and Elizabeth M. (Zona) Wentroble. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen (Allshouse) Wentroble; three brothers, David, Thomas and Anthony Wentroble; and a sister, Mary Snyder.

Don was a few months away from retiring from Basic Carbide Corp. in Buena Vista as a laborer. HIs memberships included The Church in Sutersville, Sutersville VFD Station 11, WMBU Club, located in Blythedale and the Buena Vista Fireman's Club.

He was a very quiet man and was loved by everyone who had the honor of knowing him. He loved vacations with the family to the beach, along with train trips and especially his bus trips with his friends. Family Sunday deck parties will never be the same, but memories with "Uncle Don" will forever be remembered.

Don is survived by his four sisters, Margaret Heckman, of Jeannette, Terri Clark, of Jeannette, Patricia A. Brentzel-Wentroble, of Ardara, and Beth (Frank) Rocco, of Sutersville; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Wentroble, of Jeannette; numerous nieces and nephews; and Capri. He will be sadly missed and forever loved by his family and the many friends he has made over the years.

Friends will be received from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, Pa., 724-446-7251, at which time a funeral service will be held in the funeral home with Pastor Frank A. Rocco officiating. The Sutersville VFD Station 11 will meet at 3 p.m. Sunday for services in the funeral home. Frances M. Jones, 75, of Elizabeth, died Jan. 21, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Curtis and Margaret Puckey Everett. She is survived by children, Curtis (Gail) Streyle, Allen (Peggy) Streyle, James (Victoria) Williams, Donnetta (William) Goodrich, Glori (Ed) Slate, Mara George, Kelly (Harry) Lueckert, Amber Williams, Adale Williams, Chad (April) Williams, and Christy Telles; niece, Connie (Paul) Kennedy; nephew, Donnie (Rachel) Everett; also many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at The Church, 1683 Mars Hill Road, Sutersville, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday with Pastor Frank Rocco. Interment will follow in Round Hill Cemetery.
